Tutilo wins numerous prestigious awards

Tutilo Mudumba has been on the receiving end of three of the most prestigious awards in conservation biology. Tutilo has recently been awarded the;
  1. Wildlife Conservation Network Pat J. Miller Scholarship
  2. World Wildlife Fund Russel E. Train Education for Nature Aspiring Faculty for Conservation Award
  3. African Wildlife Foundation Charlotte Conservation Graduate Research Fellowship
Each of these awards, in and of themselves, is an incredible honor, but to receive all three is inspiring. Congratulations Tutilo!

Arthur is the East African COordinator of GCF

Recent M.S. graduate Arthur Muneza is the new East African Coordinator of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Furthermore, Arthur continues his contribution to RECaP as a Ph.D. student in the lab. Arthur's Ph.D. research is being generously supported by the Leiden Conservation Foundation and will address issues affecting the conservation of giraffes in the East African region. Congratulations to Arthur as the first Leiden Conservation Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in RECaP.

Sophia Jingo wins highest honor

Congratulations are very much in order for Sophia Jingo who has been selected as the 2016 Young Women Conservation Biology (YWCB) Award Winner by the Society for Conservation Biology. This award recognizes Sophia's outstanding contribution to the Snares to Wares Initiative, to the communities of people living on the periphery of national parks in Uganda, and to the conservation of large carnivores in Uganda. The award will be officially presented to Sophia at the 3rd Africa Congress for Conservation Biology (ACCB),  in El Jadida, Morocco this September. Congratulations Sophia!
